Hogarth Hostas at the 2023 RHS Shows

Hogarth Hosta’s educational display at the 2023 RHS Chelsea Flower Show

What a year it has been! 2023 saw Hogarth Hostas take on a new challenge at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival; for the first time we exhibited under the Lindley rules. This meant Jonathan was not only showcasing his impressive national collection of small and miniature hostas but was also educating visitors on caring for, and growing, these amazing plants.

The 2023 show season kicked off at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. We had out full range of small and miniature hostas on display.

Moreover, we showcased our new educational display boards which included Jonathan’s garlic wash recipe to keep those garden pests away. Jonathan was also on hand to talk through the aeroponic system he uses to grow his national collection and was also educating visitors on companion planting - did you know planting alliums alongside your hostas can keep the slugs and snails at bay?

We were very honoured to be awarded our 6th silver-gilt medal from Chelsea Flower Show!

We were thrilled to return to the beautiful Hampton Court Palace for its annual garden festival. We had more plants from our collection of small and miniature hostas on display.

Jonathan came away with an amazing gold medal for his stand this year!

Hogarth Hostas continued to educate visitors with information on planting, splitting and re-potting hostas.

Jonathan was also on hand to answer all your questions and was even passing out handy leaflets with all his coveted secrets on tending to small and miniature hostas.

The awards kept coming this year and Hogarth Hostas were the proud recipients of an RHS rose bowl. This was awarded to Jonathan for being best in show under the plant heritage category. This brought our running total of rose bowls up to three and was the perfect end to the 2023 season!

We would like to thank all of you who managed to join us at the RHS shows in 2023. We hope you enjoyed our displays and came away with lots of additional knowledge on caring for your hostas! If you were unable to make it to the shows, don’t panic, you can follow these links to learn how to re-pot your hostas, make our garlic wash or visit our FAQ page for other tips.
